ME,MYSELF AND I

ABOUT ME

I was born in the middle of the winter, when the snowdrops were falling from the sky and Slovenians were celebrating our biggest National celebration. It was 8th of February, 1990.

Since the day I can remember I was totally mad about animals and everything that has four legs, two ears and a tail-dogs. As my parents didn't let me have pets I found some slugs on our garden and took care for them. They lived in aquarium and I brought them salad every day. One day they escaped and were all over our house. My mother went crazy and allowed me to have my own goldfish :-)

When I was 4 years old 'Santa' brought me white pet rabbit. I was so excited to have my own 'real' pet!
When I went to primary school I got my first cat-Micky. After him I had few more cats, hamsters, three parrots, a mouse, one more rabbit, ...
But I always wanted to have a dog. When I was eleven years old, my parents finally let me have a dog. So I spend whole summer 'studying' and reading everything about dogs and dog breeds. I decided I want to have a Golden Retriever.

I will never forget the 10th of August in 2001. Little golden chubby girl came into our house. My dream came true!
Liza was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. We attended dog training classes and soon we finished B-exam.

Once I noticed an article in dog magazine, that a huge dog show will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I entered Liza and myself to Junior handling competition. I got some informations about junior handling from the magazines and Ms. Zeljka Fon thought me some tips and rules. And...we went to our first competition. I was so nerves! I met very experienced junior handlers so I knew we didn't have the smallest chance on placing. But the judge, Ms. Slavica Skalar was very surprised to hear that it was our first competition. I just couldn't believe when I heard: "First place goes to young lady with Golden Retriever!" I though I was dreaming. But it was true. We won our age group and were R. BIS Junior handler of the day :-)

I started to compete more in more in junior handling. Soon I tried with other dogs too. The first was Red Irish Setter Seterday Dark Princ. It was really nice experience to show a new breed.
After some time I also started to show other dogs also in the breed ring and made some really nice placements.

In 2004 I got my second Golden Retriever, Aaron. He has a perfect character for dog show-he just loves to show himself. He was top Golden Retriever for 3 years and only Golden Retriever in Slovenia who won Best in Show - three times!

Although I show and train a lot of dogs, I didn't forget why am I doing it: because I like dogs and because I enjoy doing it.
